Solution Focused Hypnotherapy combines the use of psychotherapy with hypnosis (50/50 blend) and incorporates aspects of solution focused brief therapy (SFBT) and neuroscience, which is a powerful combination and enables clients to make significant and positive changes in their lives in a relatively short period of time.

About Me
Welcome to my website! My name is Dominica Sygulska and I am a fully qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist. I am based in Leeds/Bradford (UK).I offer face-face sessions at a clinic in Calverley, Leeds and also offer Online Hypnotherapy sessions via Zoom to clients who are in the UK or abroad.

I trained at the renowned Clifton Practice (Leeds), which is regarded as the centre of excellence for hypnotherapy training. I was awarded the Solution Focused Hypnotherapy Diploma and the Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma, which is considered the Gold Standard in hypnotherapy training.
I am a registered member with the Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH) and the National Council for Hypnotherapy (NCH).
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is also referred to as a hypnotic ‘trance’ and is a very natural and deeply relaxed state.

We use guided relaxation and visualisation to help your mind relax, which helps you to go into a hypnotic trance. During trance we achieve a state of 'focused attention', which makes your brain more responsive to positive suggestions that are designed to be beneficial and help change negative and unhelpful thought patterns. Hypnosis enables us to bypass the critical mind which often puts up barriers and during that state the subconscious mind becomes more open.
So new ideas and approaches can be considered through the subconscious, this is the part of our brain that drives our responses and stores our unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours.

Trance is a very common and natural experience. We all go into trance several times a day without even realising it. When you are driving the car and can't remember how you got from A to B (on autopilot), daydreaming or captivated reading a book and losing track of time, you have probably entered a self-induced hypnotic state. You could think of hypnosis as guided daydreaming.

During that state we are still totally aware of our surroundings and in complete control. You can come out of trance at any time and you will not get stuck in it. We cannot control your mind or make you do anything you don't want to do because your subconscious mind will reject anything that is not right for you.

It is important to note that hypnotherapy is a collaborative process between the hypnotherapist and the client.
Therefore, your commitment and determination to make changes is essential in order to maximise the effectiveness of any treatment programme. Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is immensely powerful but only when the client is determined, willing and ready to make those changes.

Results may vary between individuals and are dependant on the client's level of commitment to the process.

How long will the therapy last?
The duration of therapy differs from person to person. Different therapeutic goals will require different time frames. For example, sessions for anxiety generally take between 8 -12 sessions, stop smoking is a single session and straight-forward phobia treatments take usually 4 sessions. More sessions may be required for clients who seek help with depression or clients who experience deep-rooted unwanted thoughts and behaviours.

We use these time-scales only as an average guide but this is highly dependent on your personal circumstances and goals, your commitment to the process and how much work you put in.
All my clients receive a relaxation download to listen to between the sessions.
Listening to the download regularly will reduce the amount of sessions required and speeds up your treatment journey.
